The Top Chef University app is comprised of more than 200 cooking lessons, organized into 20 courses with over 60 hours of instructional on-demand streaming video, featuring 11 of the most successful contestants from the popular Bravo TV show, Top Chef. The Top Chef University app provides home chefs with interactive content and video lessons to learn professional cooking techniques and food preparation methods beyond just recipes.

Bravo TV needed to engage with Top Chef fans and extend their growing mobile audience. Mobile Video Platform was the solution to accelerate the production of the app. The Platform features provide Top Chef fans with the ability to track progress through the cooking courses, test their knowledge with quizzes and tag favorite lessons. Each lesson has detailed instructions, recipes and techniques, definitions for cooking terms and tools and note taking. Social TV features allow Top Chef fans to share their favorite video lessons on Facebook and Twitter.

NBCUniversal Bravo TV generates revenue from the app through in-app purchases of video cooking lessons and mobile advertising. Hundreds of thousands of Top Chef fans continue to downloaded The Top Chef University app on the Apple App Store, Google Play and Samsung App Store. The app was Identified by the Wall Street Journal as one of the best cooking apps and was a finalist in a mobile app competition at South by Southwest (SXSW).
